Here's a thought. If, as has been suggested (and I don't know if the suggestion carries any creedance) the Abu Dhabi bid for City was about raising the global profile of the Emirate and part of a sort of UAE game of one-upmanship with Dubai, it would seem to me to be a reasonable prospect that DIC will also take the plunge and buy a Premier league club at some point.
Who would you want it to be? One of the 'Big 5' (Ha ha ha - I won't get tired of typing that) to keep the Champions League competition down, or a club who's fans have gone through the mill like we have and deserve a time in the Sun - Newcastle seems like the obvious choice tonight.
