Ugandan Blues; well there is now!

I have just got back from 10 days in Uganda and besides seeing Mountain Gorilla's and Chimps there was another highlight. Timed it so the only missed match would be a defeat by Chelski

We stopped by the roadside; as was usual we were surrounded by children and a couple of teenagers who had a radio glued to their ears; they were listening to the Chelski match and seemed to know a lot about football as I asked if Tevez was playing; the match had just just started and we had a bit of a laugh and high fives etc; they told our guide they would not wash as they had been touched by a white man!

Anyway we then drove on a few miles and had a pit stop at Kabale; I walked upstairs to get a drink; there were about 300 Ugandans all lined up on seats in a very large room; they were watching the match so I strode in and started to do a jig in front of the telly as we were winning 2 - 1; I think many of those were Chelski fans but I must have converted the neutrals as at each our our goals and the sendings off they started to jig with me; I even got them singing Carlos Tevez is a Blue but only that bit; also was starting to get them to learn Blue Moon when it finished; truly amazing hour as they all wanted to shake my hand at the end; I did not know but there was a UK Chelski fan at the back; my daughter had located him but we had a good chat about football

I am sure some were converted; I should have taken some of the old shirts along; great hour in a great country
