Captaincy

I'm a bit surprised that there hasn't been more discussion here about the decision to give the captaincy to Tevez, despite Kolo starting the match. I can understand the logic in taking away from Kolo while he is not guaranteed his place in the team but would any of us have expected it to go to Tevez?

It's a clever way of keeping him happy and on board, I suppose. He also leads by example, when it comes to work rate, but it was noticeable against Spurs that he was looking more and more bemused when called over by the ref to discuss the indiscretions of his team-mates. I don't know how much he has managed to improve his English over the summer but I got the distinct impression that he was just trying to nod in the right places and look pious to keep the ref happy, despite not having a clue about what the ref had said!
