And did the Mancunian Suite with work.
Our host got delayed and did not meet us until 7pm – 30 minutes late so we were in the reception for a good while - this did mean that we saw all the players coming in from the team bus lead by Mancini. I tried my best to get some decent pictures but it was pretty hard as they were all walking towards me and I was trying to be inconspicuous. Saw Adebayor trooping in with his massive headphones, Tevez with his fluffy hat on, Boyata, David Silva, Kompany etc all walking in. Shame you cant post pictures on here really as I've gota few.
Later on I met Shay Given and Felipe Caicedo and said a few words to them. Went up to Caicedo after the game (dressed in a funky grey suit with tea shirt and white baseball boots) and he said that he isn’t going to West Ham on loan – he told me he was staying with City.
Shay came wandering in to the reception area with a cup of tea at 7pm in a white polo shirt and tracky bottoms and wet outside to meet a few people, presumably his guests, and I just said hello whilst we were waiting for the host and I asked he how he was etc.
Also saw Wayne Bridge dressed like a bit of a muppet with black jeans and massive white trainers (sadly no Vanessa Peroncel on his arm, no surprises there) – he got straight in the lift and went up to his seats
Mike Summerbee, Nicky Summerbee and Michael Gray (ex Sunderland) were all in the foyer for the same amount of time as us but probably not waiting for their free tickets!
On reflection I wish I’d have gone up to them and asked for a photo but I didn’t want to bother them.
Peter Reid came along and those three were chatting to him for a bit, Reidy was really animated, seems like quite a character. Then Sue Johnston (from the Royle Family) arrived (shes a scouser) and was chatting to Reid and a few others. I snapped her from the back but wasn’t going to be rude and point the camera right in her face!
In the stands I saw Marco Pierre White, Alex Ferguson and David Moyes amongst other famous faces whose names evaded me (needed Mrs baboon really!).
Was a bit of a shame we didn’t get up to the Suite until 7pm (which is basically a posh dining room with table service – and it wasn’t an executive box where we sat, it was corporate seating in level 2 of the Colin Bell Stand - very nice) as this meant we had to rush the meal a little in time for the
m kick off. There was a choice of 2 starter, mains and pudding and the food was pretty good I have to say. There was also half time drinks and full time drinks as well as a free match pack containing betting slips, city magazine, match programme, meal menu and a few other little things.
All in all a top night but a little blurry headed at work today !
