Sky Sports understands that Manchester City are in talks over a deal for Roma's David Pizarro. City boss Roberto Mancini had said he was not expecting any new arrivals at the Etihad Stadium this month. However, he also conceded he would like to bolster his midfield and now a deal for Chilean ace Pizarro has emerged. The likes of Juventus, Genoa and Zenit St Petersburg are all keen on the 32-year-old, but a move to City would be a huge lure for the South American. Now Sky Sports understands that City are holding talks about a possible deadline day switch for Pizarro.
Apparently, there are a number of premiership clubs interested in buying him, I wonder if we are one of those clubs?
27 goals this season so far, 22 last and 23 the season before - that's not bad going even if it is league one. Still only 21 to so could get much better yet.

the puzzle is that the club have today explicitly denied that any offers have been received; and while Bobby Manc is pushing hard to get rid of Carlos and Bridge, Ned doesn't seem to feature in these briefings (as he was doing a month or so ago).
Look like Abu is moving to Eintracht Frankfurt, after his loan spell in Norway finishes next week. I assume that all these international loans for him are the result of waiting until he reaches the criteria for a UK work permit. He is already getting selected, as a 20-year-old, in the full Ghana squad and will be at the ACN with them, so he will hopefully accumulate enough caps over the remainder of this season to qualify for the work permit by next season. Clearly he is a decent player, as Ghana are a decent team and not such an easy squad to get in to.
This seems to be a growing rumour, with a number of papers quoting his agent about it. it seems surprising, given that we will be without Kolo for all of January, unless the loan is only due to start at the end of January. Could it also mean that we are about to sign another central defender? Assuming Nedum and Bridge will also leave, this would leave us very light on experienced cover across the back four at a time when the number of games and the number of likely suspensions and injuries will increase.
